Built to hold what others are built to sell.
Chelsworth was founded on a simple frustration: the most common forms of capital and advice available to owners are designed to end. We set out to build the opposite — a private group that acquires, advises and invests as if it intends to be there for good.
The story
A holding company with a holding mentality.
Most investment structures have an in-built expiry. A fund must return capital; a balance sheet wants liquidity; an advisor is paid to transact. Owners who have spent a lifetime building a business are too often handed partners whose incentives point away from them.
Chelsworth exists to be the partner those owners actually want — one with no mandate to exit, no pressure to flip, and no incentive to push a transaction that isn't right. We acquire and hold companies on our own balance sheet, we advise privately and without conflict, and we provide capital that is patient by design.
Our name carries that intention. The old English "worth" speaks to value held over time — the worth of a business, of a reputation, of a relationship built carefully and kept. That is what we are here to steward.
From our London base, and through an operating presence in the United Arab Emirates, we work with a deliberately small number of founders, families and owner-managed businesses each year. Depth over breadth is not a slogan for us; it is a capacity constraint we have chosen.
